Root Canal Treatment Preoperative Instructions

  1. Please refrain from taking pain killers on the day of your appointment as that can mask symptoms and make diagnosis harder.
  2. If you had hip/joint replacement surgery in the past and must pre-medicate before dental treatments, be sure you take the antibiotic as instructed by your doctor.

Surgical Preoperative Instructions

  1. If you had hip/joint replacement surgery in the past and must pre-medicate before dental treatments, be sure you take the antibiotic as instructed by your doctor.
  2. DO NOT discontinue any medications unless instructed otherwise by your doctor.
  3. Fill your peridex prescription as soon as possible. Start rinsing with the peridex 3 times daily 48 hours before your appointment.
  4. Exercising extraordinary dental hygiene prior to surgery will help in post-op healing
  5. You will be given local anesthesia therefore you can drive yourself.
  6. No heavy lifting on the day of surgery, take the day to relax.
